The King was required to take an oath of loyalty to the jaw and the Constitution of the realm and to hold in trust the State for achieving the welfare of his people , both materia ' l and moral . राजा को विधि तथा अपने क्षेत्र के विधान के प्रति निष्ठा की शपथ लेनी पड़ती थी और अपनी जनता के भौतिक तथा नैतिक कल्याण के लिए राज़्य को न्यास अथवा ट्रस्ट के रूप में रखना होता था .
